Rahul Bhagat appointed as Director of Operations of Conrad Pune

Rahul Bhagat joined Conrad Pune in October 2015 as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. During the pre-opening phase, he was responsible for overseeing the successful opening of 6 F&B locations, a 20,000 sqm dining and banquet area, and a 310-room minibar. In February 2017 he was promoted to Director of F&B and is responsible for the overall operations, marketing, and sales of the entire F&B division and leads a team of 107 team members. In June 2021, due to his years of experience, he was promoted to Director of Operations and runs the entire hotel under his leadership.
With over 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rahul joins Conrad Pune after nearly a decade with the Hyatt Group in hotels across India, where he started as a corporate management intern in 2006.

In his current profile, Bhagat is responsible for the smooth operation of all hotels and staff according to the international standards of the Hilton brand and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction. He also assists in preparing and executing the hotel’s annual business plan and marketing strategy for the entire hotel. He personally participated in the recruitment, training, and motivation of the entire hotel team.

During the pandemic, he collected all COVID logs for Conrad Pune according to instructions from Hilton CleanStay. He is currently focused on opening a rooftop restaurant in Conrad Pune, as opposed to what the city of Pune has seen, and adding a total of 41 rooms, making Conrad Pune a hotel with 351 rooms.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration at the Institute of Hospitality Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai (2003-2006), he received the “Outstanding Performance during Industrial Exposure Training” award at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower. Mumbai. In addition to serving as college president, he was honored with a Dedicated Student Award and directed F&B for last year’s exams. He has been an active member of the Hyatt and now Hilton employee training module and is a certified skill and group coach. He is also a double winner of the Times Food Guide at Conrad Pune and Grand Hyatt Goa. Koji, our Pan Asian Fine Dinner, was ranked 34th in the top 50 restaurants in the country by Conde Nast and the only one on the list by Pune.

Under his leadership, Conrad Pune was recognized as the best food and beverage department in the entire APAC department for Hilton Hotels with more than 450 hotels.

In his spare time, Rahul enjoys keeping up with the international hotel scene and is passionate about the latest movies, video games and cricket.
